BNC B Beyond Non-deterministic Connections, Version B Post-digital installation, 2015 125x125x125 cm includes single channel video, duration 03:20 min. includes single channel video, duration 02:10 min. Beyond Non-deterministic Connections Version B is a sculptural network of Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) tee connectors and a two-channel video installation. Serving as a monumental analog video mixer, BNC B is also a statement and metaphor for global connectedness. With its sharp 90 degree angles its structure developed out of the aesthetics of L-systems, a class of generative algorithms that have widely been used in the modelling of plants and recursive processes and are representative for the governance of algorithms and data today. BNC B is falling into the realm of "post-digital sculpture", which is a sculptural installation that works with the physical building blocks of moden digital technology to create a critical hybrid artwork. That way, BNC B is both sculpture and video installation, combining elements of analog as well as elements of digital technology.
